Hiding a column in a dynamic grid causes filtering issues

Summary
Hiding a column in a dynamic grid causes the filtering to break for all subsequent columns.
Steps to Reproduce
1. Setup a grid to be dynamically generated and make it a virtual grid by specifying a virtual report definition.
2. Add a button to add / remove columns utilizing a method similar to the one found in the UI Gallery.
3. Run the section and try to filter the grid after the first hidden column. Observe that the filter values are empty.
Root Cause
The hidden column causes issues getting a distinct list for subsequent columns.
Resolution
This issue is scheduled to be resolved in the Pega 7.1.8 release.
