How to https enable selected CONNECT SOAP services
SA-7268
Summary
Some of the services used in the enterprise middleware bus (Jboss) are now https enabled and customer enterprise bus team have asked us to install the appropriate certificates. This will allow us to make use of "https" for selected CONNECT SOAP services.
We want to know if we need to follow the article here to enable https:--
https://pdn.pega.com/system-operations/how-to-configure-the-application-server-to-support-ssltls-in-prpc
If the above is not the correct article then where does it explains the enablement of "https"
Also, since we are "https" enabling selected CONNECT SOAP services, if we do install the certificates will it cause problems or issues for non-https compliant CONNECT SOAP services?
Resolution
As long as the SSL certificates are correctly deployed to the underlying application server, they can then be used by PRPC.
Please follow the 6.1 SP2 Developer Help Guidance on configuring Rule-Connect-SOAP:
https://pdn.pega.com/sites/default/files/help_v61sp2/procomhelpmain.htm#rule-/rule-connect-/rule-connect-soap/advanced.htm
On the advanced tab of the connect-soap rule you have an option to enable/disable that connector for WS Security, this will allow you to configure connectors with and without SSL enabled.
The following articles will also prove useful, as it explains how to create a WS Security profile for use with your connectors.
