HTML to PDF does not support Expo Arabic font

Summary



When using the Expo Arabic font to generate a PDF, the PDF is generated with junk characters.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Install the Expo Arabic font.
  2. Refer the Font family as Expo Arabic.
  3. Add Arabic content. 
  4. Generate the PDF.


Root Cause



A software use or operation error.


Resolution



Perform the following local-change:

Update the CSS font family as below for the Expo Arabic font in the HTML stream,
  • Expo Arabic Light as ExpoArabic-Light
  • Expo Arabic Bold as ExpoArabic-Bold
  • Expo Arabic SemiBold as ExpoArabic-SemiBold
  • Expo Arabic Medium as ExpoArabic-Medium

For example,

.b {
  font-family: "ExpoArabic-Light", "ExpoArabic-Bold", "ExpoArabic-SemiBold","ExpoArabic-Medium";
}
