Icon for collapsible header type is not visible in IE8 browser

SA-8931

Summary

You have a grid repeat layout in a section and have configured the grid header of type collapsible. At runtime, the grid header is seen but there is no icon to show that you could expand/collapse it.

Error Messages

Not Applicable

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Create repeating grid layout in a section with a header of type collapsible.
  2. Add it as a part of the flow action.
  3. Use the old Perform harness which has "Action" section.
  4. Run the flow and verify if you are able to see the collapsible header icon.

Root Cause

The child selector used for expand/collapse icon image set does not work in IE8 because -
  • The old 'Action' section implementation from Pega 5.5 is being used to display the flow action that houses the grid. This renders the HTML in Quirks mode.
  • The harness involved has no Document Type - 'Standards' setting applied.

Resolution

Following are the changes required to fix the reported behavior (with the use of an auto-generated skin) -
  1. Replace Action section with the new pyActionArea in the harness.
  2. In the 'Advanced' tab of the harness, change the client runtime setting to HTML5(Standards).
