IllegalArgumentException when attachment file name contains &

Summary



IllegalArgumentException occurs when the attachment file name contains a special character (&). This occurs when using the Select Files option to attach the file.


Error Messages



** Java Exception: java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Trying to set a parameter with invalid name " SMA landing pages - Copy.docx;"


Steps to Reproduce

  1. Log in to Pega 7.1.8.
  2. Open any Work Object.
  3. Click the Add button to attach a file.
  4. Click the Select File button instead of the Drag and Drop option.
  5. Select a file with the special character '&' (ampersand) in the file name.

Root Cause



A defect in Pegasystems’ code or rules.


Resolution



Apply HFix-28049.
