Images do not show up when load balancer URL is used

Summary



User has 2 PRPC instances deployed in 2 tomcat servers. They have a load balancer that routes the requests between these 2 Pega JVMs. User noticed issues loading images in the developer portal and the user portal. Tracing the request in the Fiddler, shows status code 504 and also the protocol is changed from HTTPS to HTTP and port is changed to 443.

Successful requests are using HTTPS and there is no port given, failure requests are using HTTP and attaching 443 as port.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Login in to PRPC developer portal.
  2. Look in the portal for any missing images.

Root Cause



Customer's application is missing reverse proxy configuration.

Resolution



After configuring the reverse proxy images are loaded fine.
