iOS Push notification certificates generates XCarchive file

Summary



While creating an iOS mobile application with Push notifications, the process creates a XCarchive file instead of an IPA file instead. As a result, unable to configure Push notifications.


Error Messages



Not Applicable.


Steps to Reproduce

  1. Upload Push notification certificates for iOS platform
  2. Choose Push notification certificates for generating an iOS application
  3. Run the flow. A xcarchive.zip file is generated instead of a QR/IPA file


Root Cause



A software use or operation error.


Resolution

Perform the following local-change:

When adding the certificate set on the 'Mobile: Certificates' landing page, check the 'Enable a simplified certificate set (unsigned application)' option.
