Issue with sorting by Date in the reports



There is a report definition in which data is grouped by Month and sorted over Date fields.
User is facing an issue with the charts that display month and year. The sort is configured to display from recent to oldest values of date, which is not displayed correctly.

Error Messages

Not Applicable.

Steps to Reproduce

1. Create a report.
Add the desired columns as below with minimum one aggregate function applied to a column.
3. Configure data chart.
4. Run the report.

Root Cause

Incorrect configuration of report by user leads to this behavior.


Here’s the explanation for the reported behavior: 

Steps to create report with chart are :- 

1. Add the desired columns as below with minimum one aggregate function applied to a column.

  a. Add ".pyLabel","..pxCreateDateTime",".pyOrgDivision",".pyWorkGroup" and ".pyOrganization"
  b. Configure "COUNT" summary function for any column. For ex :- .pyOrgDivision",".pyWorkGroup" and ".pyOrganization" as summarize function.

2. Data chart configuration. 

 a. Group By "Create Date/Time".
 b. Check all the columns having aggregate function as "Summarized Column".

3. Select Date Format
  a.Set DateTime Pattern as "MM/yyyy" or as required.
