JAWS reads Sort order twice when focus is on the Sort icon
SA-54850
Summary
JAWS reads the Sort order twice when:
- Sort icon is engaged (pressing Enter (or) clicking it).
- Focus is returned to the Sort icon (using the Shift + Tab keys) from the Filter icon.
Error Messages
Not Applicable
Steps to Reproduce
- Enable PegaWAI.
- Listen to any grid after sorting the column using Internet Explore 11 browser and JAWS18.
Root Cause
A <span> is generated for the Sort icon and enclosed in a <div> for the column header. This associates the Sort icon to the column. Both the <span> and <div> elements have a tabindex attribute set to receive focus. However, in the below mentioned scenarios, JAWS reads both the parent and the child content though focus is on the sort <span>.
- Sort icon is engaged (by pressing Enter (or) clicking it) such that the grid is reloaded.
- Focus is returned to the Sort icon (using the Shift + Tab keys) from the Filter icon.
Resolution
An enhancement request, FDBK-256862, has been created for consideration by Pega Product Management.
