Localized feature of section is not working

SA-25586

Summary

Developer checked the localized feature check box of the HTML tab of a Section rule which has some decimal values (such as amount and currency rate).

When the application is used by Italian users in the Italian locale, the dot character in currency amounts should be substituted with a comma instead. A dot character causes a validation exception to occur with decimal values.

Error Messages

"0.90 is not a valid decimal value"

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Open Internet Explorer.
  2. Go to Language tab.
  3. Add Italian Locale and apply.
  4. Close the window and open a new session.
  5. Create a case and insert fractional value into amount field and Submit.

Root Cause

An issue in the custom application code or rules:  This is the expected system behavior when the locale is changed to Italian.

Resolution

Here’s the explanation for the reported behavior:

The rate was entered with a decimal period and failed validation as it was not correctly formatted with a decimal comma.  it should be "0,90"
