New Interaction Portal New Work menu Inconsistent



User included launching a service item in New work menu along with Interaction. When an Interaction and Service Item launched respectively, the service item is getting launched in same interaction tab/window, instead of getting launched in a new tab.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Update Navigation rule to include a service item
  2. Launch Interaction portal and launch a service item. After that launch an Interaction and then launch one more service item. Newly launched service item will appear in Interaction tab itself. New tab/window is not getting created for service item.

Root Cause

The root cause of this problem is a defect in Pegasystems’ CPM Framework code/rules.


User can create a Data Transform to set D_CPMPortalContext.pyID, ThreadName and ActiveParentRecent to be empty string and configure menu item to run Data transform and Create Work. This should help user to display the service process tab in the top.
