Notification does not display in Designer Studio on locking RSV

Summary



The error notification, Unable to lock a ruleset due to checked-out recordsdoes not display in Designer Studio to inform about any checked out rule. This occurs when attempting to lock a RuleSetVersion (RSV).


Error Messages



An error occurred during resolving the report definition - Table ABC.pwbv4_rule_locking does not exist in database PegaRULES


Steps to Reproduce

  1. Log in to Designer Studio
  2. Check out a rule
  3. Open a ruleset and check the count for Checked Out and Rules currently checked out


Root Cause



An issue in the custom application code or rules. 

The out-of-the-box Data-Rule-Locking pzGetCheckedoutRulesForRSV report definition retrieves the count by querying on pwbv4_rule_locking view in the database. However, for the user test connectivity fails for Data-Rule-Locking class with 'Table ABC.pwbv4_rule_locking does not exist in database PegaRULES' error. In the database, for the privileges for pwbv4_rule_locking view, Select Privilege is not granted on the pwbv4_rule_locking view.



Resolution

Perform the following local-change:

Add Select Privilege for pwbv4_rule_locking view in the database.
