Pega 7.1.8 installation issue

SA-17313

Summary

Installing Pega 7.1.8 on Oracle 12 fails with error below.

Error Messages

[java] Caused by: com.pega.pegarules.pub.database.NonexistentTableException: Database-TableWithNoColumns RulesSchema.pr4_base PegaRULES
[java] From: (unknown)

Steps to Reproduce

Not Applicable

Root Cause

A defect or configuration issue in the operating environment.  There is a known Oracle JDBC driver issue when using a database user with dba type privileges when there are synonyms to other schemas on the database. When using the metadata provided by the driver it will find the synonym reference in the wrong schema even when the code specifies the schema to look in.

Resolution

Make the following change to the operating environment: Drop the synonyms to allow the installation to complete.
