Product documentation needs changes regarding static assembler

SA-41901

Summary

The documentation for the 115258_FSIF_7.21.01.zip installation as part of 115262_OBFS_7.22.zip install on Pega 7.2.2. on page 8, step 10 provides instructions that refer to:

https://pdn.pega.com/how-use-static-assembler-utility-pre-assemble-rules-application

which is a dead link. The instruction "To prepare, identify the exact name of each application rule and a corresponding access group" has no instructions on how to accomplish this activity.

The documentation indicates that the static assembler should be run against Pega Foundation for Financial Services (FSIF) only.

No instruction is given regarding how to make sure that application is available to the static assembler through the User Interface.

Root Cause

Refer to the product documentation:

The referenced link in the documentation is no longer active. The documentation does not provide information on how to set the FSIF context when logging in such that the static assembler shows the application.

Resolution

Here’s the explanation for the reported behavior:

When logging into Pega 7, the context provided by the OperatorID determines what the static assembler will show as available applications to use.

For FSIF one must log in as an FSIF operator with the appropriate permissions to run the static assembler through the User Interface.

Review all available applications using Administrator@pega.com to look at the Records> Applications instance list.

This will provide a list that can be used in the command line static assembler utility available on the Pega 7 media.

Note: BUG-340887 has been created to address the documentation error.
