Prompt value is set instead of standard value in autocomplete

Summary



Autocomplete field has List source Type set to 'As defined on property'. At runtime, selecting a value in the autocomplete field sets the label instead of the value.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Use autocomplete and in source set property to 'As defined in property'.
  2. In the property, add a prompt list.
  3. Run the case. Select any value in autocomplete.


Root Cause



This behavior is as per Pega product design.


Resolution



Here’s the explanation for the reported behavior:

When autocomplete is used in combination with the Prompt list, the Prompt label is displayed and the same is submitted to the Clipboard. The property defined Prompt value used in autocomplete, is not supported.
