Properties do not display in the 'Select Properties' section

Summary



Properties do not display in the 'Select Properties' section when using the property configuration dialog box and selecting a class in the 'From Class:' drop down.
As a result, unable to start the extraction process as unable to select the desired properties from the Property Configurator.

The user has Oracle Database 12c Enterprise Edition Release.



Error Messages



java.sql.SQLTimeoutException: ORA-01013: user requested cancel of current operation


Steps to Reproduce

  1. Create a Business Intelligence Exchange (BIX) Extract rule in the desired class
  2. Navigate to the Definition tab > Click the gear icon next to the class name
  3. Select any class on the property configuration dialog box


Root Cause



The BIX Extract rule uses the pzListProperties report definition to populate the Extract rule with the properties and this report is a rule resolved report. The report was not able to fetch the data and the query generated was timing out. This occurred the optimizer was not switched on for the tables.


Resolution

Perform the following local-change:

Switch on the optimizer for the below tables from the database:
  • pr4_rule_vw
  • pr_sys_ruleset_index
  • pr4_rule_property
  • pr_sys_class_ancestors
