PRPC startup throws errors and hangs for 20-30 minutes

Summary



PRPC initialization on Jboss 7.1.7 server is throwing errors and hanging for 20-30 minutes during login.

Error Messages



17:12:43,734 ERROR [stderr] (http-/172.21.5.58:8080-3) com.pega.pegarules.pub.context.RequestorLockException: Unable to synchronize on requestor H1A2C8ECBC1856DA3D304A26353C98AEE within 120 seconds: (thisThread = http-/172.21.5.58:8080-3) (originally locked by = http-/172.21.5.58:8080-1) (finally locked by = http-/172.21.5.58:8080-1)
we see many many of these for 20-30 minutes.


Steps to Reproduce



Starting up the server and login.

Root Cause



The root cause of this problem is defect/misconfiguration in the operating environment in that the server is not allowed to access the external internet, in this case, pdn.pega.com.

Resolution



This issue is resolved through the following local change:
Set the dynamic system setting 'AllowAccessToExternalSystem' to false.
