pxConvertResultsToCSV throws exception on Open URL in WIndow



When calling the action Open URL in Window, which uses pxConvertResultsToCSV activity from the onClick event of a button, PRRuntime exceptions are thrown relating to pxConvertResultsToCSV.

Error Messages

Pop-up window named ActivityStatusError:
Status: fail
Message: There has been an issue; please consult your system administrator
Operator ID: UserName
Requestor ID: HEA85AE5A4BEEE7C8E0288E276662EA1F

Steps to Reproduce

  1. In a section rule on the work class for a case, add a button that has an onClick event, which calls the action Open URL in Window using the activity pxConvertResultsToCSV. Pass a Page List ID from the case work class for the parameter PageListProperty.
  2. Open an existing case that has a Page List populated.
  3. Open the section rule with the button mentioned in Step 1, and click the button.
  4. Observe that the exception pop-up appears, and details are logged in the Pega log file.

Root Cause

This issue was determined to be a product enhancement request. The content passed to pxConvertResultsToCSV contained a page-list/page-group, which cannot be digested by this activity. It only supports scalar properties.


An enhancement request, FDBK-17920, has been created for consideration by Pega Product Management.
