pxSessionTimer with Logoff Timer does not work after upgrade

After upgrading to Pega 7.1.7, pxSessionTimer and Logoff Timer usage does not work as expected. The Logoff Timer window displays, but on click of the "Okay" button (to extend the session) the modal window does not get fully removed. Also, the auto logoff does not work if the timer expires.
