Real Time data flows don't start back up on Node restart

SA-30372

Summary

User have real time data flows configured (Designer Studio -> Decisioning -> Decisions -> Data Flows -> Real Time Processing). These data flows are used for processing events being sent to Stream Data sets in the application.

Whenever there is a node restart, we see these flows changed to "Failed" status and we need to manually restart them. This is not ideal, as these are part of always on logic for business application and this adds additional burden on the Admin team to check and restart the flow on each restart.

Error Messages

Not Applicable

Steps to Reproduce

1. Configure a Data Flow to execute as real time processing flow.
2. Restart the node.
3. Check the status on restart - it has changed to Failed.

Root Cause

A defect in Pegasystems’ code or rules.

Resolution

Perform the following local-change:

Created below shown activity to restart the inactive DataFlows

Created a start-up only standard agent to call this activity so that the data flows can be restarted when the server is restarted.
