Remote connection failed error with session timeout

Summary



If the user is not attending the application screen for an hour and then after the session timeout, while trying to re - login to the session, user is getting below exception in logs:

com.pega.pegarules.session.external.mgmt.PageCannotBeSerializedForPassivationException.

The issue is with the session time out in the application.

Remote connection failed while invoking service


Steps to Reproduce



Using a HTML rule to set all the input parameters for login.

The same rule is working in PRPC 6.1, while trying to achieve the same in Pega 7, user is facing the issues.


Root Cause



There are more than one request sent to server when user makes a single UI action during the authentication.

Resolution



Select the check box "Use Basic authentication for timeout", when this option is selected, upon authentication timeout user will be prompted with basic authentication pop-up challenge.

A product enhancement bug has been raised for this issue with bug ID:
BUG-304044 and it will be fixed in future release.
