Rule Cache displays Critical warning in PDC

SA-106275

Summary

In the Pega Predictive Diagnostic Cloud (PDC), the Rule Cache displays as Critical in systems that run the Business Intelligence Exchange (BIX) extracts continuously through the day.

Error Messages

Critical Cache status

Steps to Reproduce

Execute the BIX every 15 minutes. Observe the Cache status in the PDC.

Root Cause

A defect or configuration issue in the operating environment.
According to the PDC, the Rule cache is not enabled on the Util node. When a BIX extract executes, it disabled the Rule cache at the start and enabled it when the execution completed.

Resolution

Here’s the explanation for the reported behavior:

BIX disables the Rule cache before it executes and re-enables the cache when execution is complete. This is required for BIX to run correctly. The user can ignore the Warning message on the Util node.
