Rule check-in fails with an error

Summary



Error occurs when checking-in a rule after submitting a single quotation mark (') as a comment. The error persists even when submitting the rule with a valid comment.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Check-out a rule
  2. Check-in the rule with a quotation mark (') as the comment
  3. Close the check-in window, try check-in again with valid comment.


Root Cause



A defect in Pegasystems’ code or rules. Incorrect condition on one of the steps of the Rule-.PostActionCheckIn activity.


Resolution

Perform the following local-change:
  1. Save the Rule-.PostActionCheckIn Activity in the application ruleset
  2. Replace the When condition with .pyMemo=="" || Param.InMemo ==""
