Screen layout aside portion occupies screen based on content

KCP-736

Summary

The right side part of the User Interface (UI) occupies the screen based on the content on the Screen layout (Header-Left-Right) . The main area content either shrinks or is completely replaced with the side area content. However, the email body is configured on the right side. Hence, when the email body varies the screen size also varies.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Configure a Screen layout (Header-Left-Right) in the Perfrom harness.
  2. Configure the Right side content area to be resizable.
  3. Configure the width of the skin to be a fixed value. The right aside expands beyond the fixed width value that is configured in the skin.

Root Cause

An issue in the custom application code or rules. Work area based harness (For example, Perform harness)  does not have support for Skin rule changes. Hence, though the width of the panels on the screen layout in skin is modified, the changes do not reflect on the UI. As a result of this, the screen layout panels render as per their content width.

Any harness can be Work Area harness if the Work Area option is set on the Advanced tab of the harness rule.
