Segment issue in Pega 7.2 due to "report on descendant class"

Summary



In Pega 7.2, report definitions have the following setting enabled by default: Report on descendant class instances

Pega Marketing segmentation functionality creates report definitions behind the scenes and the above setting causes problems in certain scenarios and prevents segments from being created/executed.

Error Messages



Error occurred during Segment population: Failed to create the Report Definition for this Segment.

Steps to Reproduce



Problem is intermittent and dependent on the nature of artifacts on a system. It typically arises when there are missing configurations for some classes descend from the customer class.

Root Cause



A defect in Pegasystems’ code or rules
