Silverlight pre-requisites installer issues
The user with administrative privileges on the workstation has executed Silverlight pre-requisites installer, provided in pzSLpreReqs.cab Rule-File-Binary.
Although installer has reported successful result, running Word merge in Out-of-the-Box WordEmbedMergeTest flow, fails with error:
“SilverLight Control ERROR in 'LaunchWordMerge': Aborting Word Merge launch. Silverlight control has NO elevated security privileges on the client workstation.”
Manual examination of the “AllowLaunchOfElevatedTrustApps” Windows registry key shows value of 0, although value of 1 is required according to Microsoft MSDN article “How to: Enable Trusted Applications to Run Inside the Browser”.
SilverLight Control ERROR in 'LaunchWordMerge': Aborting Word Merge launch. Silverlight control has NO elevated security privileges on the client workstation
Steps to Reproduce
Attempt a Word merge.
A defect in Pegasystems’ installer of the Silverlight pre-requisites provided in pzSLpreReqs.cab instance of the Rule-File-Binary class.
The installer does not set AllowLaunchOfElevatedTrustApps registry key value to 1 as required by Microsoft.
This issue will be fixed in the future Pega 7.2.2 release.
Note: To unblock the issue, a workstation administrator can manually set the AllowLaunchOfElevatedTrustApps registry key value to 1, using the regedit.exe tool.
