Single node not starting properly during cluster restart

SA-25896

Summary

Sometimes one node in a cluster does not start cleanly when the cluster is restarted. When each node is started manually one-by-one, the instance comes up fine.

Steps to Reproduce

Restart the cluster.

Root Cause

A defect in Pegasystems’ code or rules. Stale node information exists in the cluster node cache due to an improper shutdown. As the cache is now in an inconsistent state, it does not allow the node to start up.

Resolution

This issue is addressed in Pega 7.2.1.
