Not Applicable

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Log in to Designer Studio using Chrome with hardware acceleration disabled.
  2. Open several rules.
  3. Notice that performance is very slow.

Root Cause

A defect in Pegasystems’ code or rules

In Pega 7.4, the 'What’s new' widget uses WebGL for the animation. If you are using Citrix or Chrome with hardware acceleration disabled, WebGL rendering is negatively affected, leading to slow performance. In addition, WebGL can have a major negative effect on your browser (Chrome or other browser).

Resolution

To avoid this issue in Pega 7.4 Designer Studio, when the 'What's new' widget displays, click the button labeled 'Hide this until next release' .
This action removes the widget. At your next login, the widget will not be displayed.

Apply HFix-47856.
