Suitable driver not found to connect to external DB2 database



Error occurs when connecting to DB2 from Designer Studio.

However, able to connect to DB2 from WebSphere and Oracle SQL Developer.

Error Messages

Test Database ConnectionStatus
DatabaseException caused by prior exception: java.sql.SQLException: No suitable driver found

Steps to Reproduce

Connect to DB2 from Designer Studio.

Root Cause

Not Applicable


Perform the following local-change for any external database type:
  1. Add the prconfig/database/drivers/default Dynamic System Settings (DSS) value in;.
  2. Navigate to Application > Distribution. Import the JDBC driver (such as db2jcc4.jar) or add the correct -classpath db2jcc4.jar.
  3. Restart the JVM(s).
