SA-47707

Summary

When using the Tab key to select options from multiple dropdowns consecutively, the option selected for the previous dropdown is reset. This occurs when navigating quickly through the dropdowns using the Tab key.

Error Messages

Not Applicable

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Upgrade from PRPC 6.3 SP1 to Pega 7.2.
  2. Configure multiple dropdown fields sourced from a report definition in Section1.
  3. Configure an on change and on Tab key Refresh Section and Refresh-Other section.
  4. Retain Section1 in Section 2.
  5. Configure the Repeating Dynamic Layout (RDL) in Section2.

Root Cause

A software use or operation error: Design issue.
Before the section with the dropdown is refreshed, the user is selecting the value for the next dropdown. Hence, when the refresh is performed on the section, the previously selected value in the dropdown is reset.

Resolution

Here’s the explanation for the reported behavior:

As per the design, the selection of the second dropdown must be performed after 0.5 seconds, such that the section refresh is completed. Alternatively, the dropdown must be configured outside the context of the Refresh-Other section. This can be achieved by using the repeating grid layout and by using a Refresh the Current Row instead of Refreshing the Entire Grid or Section.
