Unable to build Pega Work Indexes



Rebuilding the Pega work indexer fails with ' Bad packet type'

Error Messages

Caused by SQL Problems.
Problem #1, SQLState 08006, Error code 17002: java.sql.SQLRecoverableException: IO Error: Bad packet type

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Kick off rebuilding for work indexes

Root Cause

The root cause of this problem is defect/misconfiguration in the operating environment. 


This issue is resolved by making the following change to the operating environment: 

updated the Oracle jdbc driver version from  to  to match Oracle database version & it fixed the problem.
