Unable to Check In some rules
User recently upgrade development applications based on PRPC 6.2SP2 to PRPC 7.1.8.
Sometimes there is an issue when trying to check-in rules, a Pega error message appears in a modal dialog box. For example: “[..]You can only check in this rule through the workpage for RULE-OBJ-FIELDVALUE APP-FW-APP-DATA-AUDIT-PROCESS MESSAGE!ACTIVITY_VALIDATE_ONLY #20160127T091424.239 GMT Rule- Checked out from 01-09-20 RULE-OBJ-FIELDVALUE APP-FW-APP-DATA-AUDIT-PROCESS MESSAGE!ACTIVITY_VALIDATE_ONLY #20160127T093008.521 GMT Rule- My check out APP-FW-APP-DATA-AUDIT-Process true pyClassName Embed-RuleManagement-KeyPrompt Applies To Message true pyFieldName Embed-RuleManagement-KeyPrompt Field Name ACTIVITY_VALIDATE_ONLY true pyFieldValue Embed-RuleManagement-KeyPrompt Field Value empty Embed-CustomFieldsList Embed-PagesAndClasses [..]” (full message in attachments)
The error appears after the submit of the check-in button in the popup where we put the comment. All users are affected.
Steps to Reproduce
- Enable the Approve Check in Process on the RuleSet Rule Form.
- Create a rule.
- Check it out.
- Check it in.
- The rule is now in CheckinCandidates Ruleset pending approval.
- Save As the rule (while its in checkincandidates).
- Try to check in new rule.
The issue is caused by Performing a Save - As on the rule while it is pending check in approval.
To fix the rule, Create an activity that removes the <pyStatus>Candidate<pyStatus> property from the rule.
