Unable to customize the chat Notification sound



Pega Customer Service (CS) 7.4 is installed on Pega Platform 7.4.
Unable to customize the chat Notification sound for both the CSR and user.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Connect to the Chat server.
  2. Send a message from the user to the CSR and vice versa.

Root Cause

An issue in the custom application code or rules.
According to the CS Chat 7.4 implementation, the Notification sound was enabled only at the user end and not at the CSR. The Notification sound at the user end is played from the chat-notification-2.mp3 file in the Chat directory (Chat > Assets > Sounds).


Perform the following local-change to customize the chat notification sound at the user end,
  1. Replace the chat-notification-2.mp3 file in the Chat directory (Chat > Assets > Sounds) with the customized tone.
  2. Do not change the file name. That is, retain the chat-notification-2.mp3 file name; however, the content in the file is the customized tone.
