Unable to generate documents in office 2013

Summary
The user application contains functionalities that enable document generation, i.e. a lab investigation form, or letter correspondence to be sent to designated party. These documents are not getting generated in the upgraded application (V6.3sp1) in Office 2013(The same documents can be generated with Office 2010).
This issue is faced with both Windows 7 SP1/IE10 as well as Windows 8.1/IE11, it is specific to Office 2013.
Error Messages
IE10/Win 7 SP1: "initialization failed. Could not open macro storage. Source Location: False, Determine Word templates folder"
IE11/Win 8.1: " initialization failed. Unrecognized MS Word version. Only Word 2010, 2007,2003,2002 and 2000 are supported."
Steps to Reproduce
Log in to any PRPC 6.3SP1 Environment ,
Rn a report definition or List View
Try export to excel and also try running workembedmerge test flow which comes under pegaSample classgroup.
