Unable to include new rules to existing Application Overlay

SA-23371

Summary

Developers have setup Application Overlay in Pega Marketing Application for the management of business artefacts in Business Authoring environment.

While including any new type of rules to an existing application overlay, get different validation errors based on the rules types included and are not able to progress on updating the App Overlay definition. The Application Overlay created had initially three rules included in it from the base Application.

Error Messages

Failed to update revision ruleset with the new rules.

Steps to Reproduce

Open an Application Overlay Definition and try to include new Rules to it.

Root Cause

Application Overlay ruleset was based on old Application version.

Resolution

User is advised to update the base Application to include the ruleset of the Application Overlay ruleset.

If there are more than 500 rules in the Application to be added in the Application Overlay for Revision Management, then any new rules cannot be added as the data for this Revision Management is fetched from Report Definition "pyGetApplicationSpecificDistinctRules".

Increasing the value of "Maximum number of rows to retrieve" from default value of 500, available under the tab "Data Access > General data access settings" will allow new Decision rules to be added to the Application Overlay.
