Unable to launch application using IE 11 browser

SA-9997

Summary

The use case involves IAC to display a harness in the main/parent application which is non-Pega. Users are unable to navigate from parent application using IE11.

Error Messages

Not Applicable.

Steps to Reproduce

1. Configure a portal/harness to be displayed via IAC.
2. Configure the main application to embed the ICA page.
3.Run the application in IE11.

Root Cause

User has a requirement to embed a PRPC harness/portal through IAC in a parent application.
The parent application works in 'Standards' or 'Non-Compatibility' mode. When parent application is launched, the IAC part does not work.

Resolution

This is expected behavior. The reason for this is as follows:

a) In IE10 and 11, the default document mode is set to 'Standards'.

b) PRPC 5.x and PRPC 6.x portals are not designed to run in standards mode. To support 5.x and 6.x portals on IE 10/11, there exist hotfixes.

These hotfixes ensure that document mode is forced to 'Quirks' so that end user portals work fine.
