Unable to send a message using the Enter button

Summary



Unable to send a message to a user over Chat when using the Enter button. Clicking the Send button sends the message.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Initiate a chat from the user side.
  2. Accept the chat on Customer Service side
  3. Enter text and send the message using the Enter key.
  4. Press the Enter, with out entering any text, by focusing on the textarea of the chat.
  5. Enter some text and send using the 'Enter' key.


Root Cause



A defect in Pegasystems’ code or rules. Event Listener was not removed after the Enter key was pressed and when the text key events were empty.


Resolution



Apply HFix-40497.
