URL launched even though error messages appear in Clipboard

SA-44625

Summary

When there are post activity validation errors in a form at runtime, the Submit button – configured to ‘Finish assignment’ and ‘Open URL in a window’ - actions must not execute until the error fields are corrected.

Error Messages

Not Applicable

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Create a form with fields
  2. Run a validation activity as a post action in the flow action
  3. Configure the Submit button to ‘Finish assignment’ and ‘Open URL in a window’
  4. Click the Submit button at runtime

Root Cause

The When condition, in a button control, to check for error messages on the clipboard was missing. After installation of the HFix-37111, the When rule must be added to check for existing error messages so that the 'Open URL in new window' is not executed.

Resolution

Although the hotfix resolves the issue, it does not work in every scenario.

An enhancement request, FDBK-23014, has been created for consideration by Pega Product Management.
