Users unable to use "Edit in Excel" functionality from list view

Summary



When some users click "Edit in Excel" button from data tables or list views, Excel is launched and raises error and the spreadsheet stays empty.


Error Messages



"Compile error in hidden module: modCommon".



Steps to Reproduce



Click "Edit in Excel" button from a Data table or List view


Root Cause



The users who observe this error have Excel 2010 64-bit version installed on their workstations. PRPC 6.2 SP2 does not support 64-bit version of Excel.

Resolution



Installing 32-bit version of Excel 2010 resolves the issue.
