When rule in action set to invoke local action not working

Summary



When launching a local action on change of a dropdown value, a When rule is invoked before the launch which evaluates the value of the dropdown. This When evaluation works incorrectly. This works correctly with Always and Never When rules.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Configure a dropdown with an action set on change action or event.
  2. Invoke a local action.
  3. Refresh the current harness. The When rule is set for both.


ROOT  CAUSE

This behavior is as per Pega product design: When rule (which evaluates the value of dropdown A).


Resolution



Perform the following local-change: 

Use a direct property reference such as 'Associated Property or 'Other Property' to provide the required functionality.
