Word merge Error in ConstructWordActiveX after upgrade

Summary



Word merge operations fail and display error messages post upgrade.


Error Messages



Error in ConstructWordActiveX: Object doesn't support property or method 'all'
Error in SetupSettinsXML: Unable to get property 'text' of undefined or null reference


Steps to Reproduce

  1. Upgrade application from PRPC 6 platform to Pega 7 platform.
  2. Perform Word merge operations.


Root Cause



ActiveX version of Word merge was outdated. Pega 7 uses Silverlight for Word merge.

Resolution



Migrate the ActiveX implementations to use Silverlight for the Word merge feature.
