Summary

You notice that locks on open work objects are not always released when users close the tab containing the item.

Steps to Reproduce

1. Create a covered item
2. Include a custom link that opens the item's cover item in the same tab
3. Open the cover item from that custom link
4. Close the tab

Root Cause

When the tab is closed it calls the activity Work-.Close. Close will return the locks for the item in pyWorkPage and pyWorkCover. When the child item was opened, locks were acquired on both the cover and covered items. When the contents of the tab were changed to contain just the cover, the lock was never returned for the covered item. At the time Work-.Close was called, the pyWorkPage contained the cover item and there was no pyWorkCover.

Resolution

Use an explicit call to activity Work-.WorkUnlock to close the covered object when replacing it with its cover object.
