Meet Arpit

Let’s start off by learning a bit more about your life prior to Pega. Where are you from originally and what is your educational background?
I’m from a relatively small city in central India called Bhopal. I graduated in Electronics and Telecommunication from Rajiv Gandhi University. After graduation, I was recruited by Cognizant where I worked for 6 years and later moved to Bank of Singapore in 2017.

What motivated you to learn how to use Pega?
I began my IT career in Cognizant, where I was introduced to Pega. Coming from an electronics background, I had limited IT knowledge and programming skills. I was reluctant initially, but after attending a few boot-camp sessions, I was drawn towards the flexible and user-friendly platform Pega provides. The effortless low-code and model-driven development fascinated me into learning more about Pega.

How has Pega shaped or impacted your career?
It’s hard to imagine my current standing without having Pega expertise. Pega gave me a great launchpad to kick start my IT career. After earning CSA certification, I was tagged as a “niche skill” developer, which always gave me an extra edge compared to my peers. With each certification (CSSA, CPBA, CPDC), I gained new competencies in different Pega domains. This gave me great opportunities to work on multiple projects in various prestigious retail and wealth management banks across the globe.

Pega is a developer’s delight. Unlike conventional coding, it has a low-code/no-code platform that allows me to focus more on creative solutions and deliverables, without worrying much about the underlying code.

How is Pega changing the organization where you work?
As an emerging top global wealth management bank, there is always a push towards Digital Transformation, AI and DevOps. Pega plays a very important role in automating and streamlining the bank’s critical processes in a very short turnaround time, giving a better user experience and empowering the customer journey.

The concept of Customer Microjourney and Minimum Lovable Product (MVP) completely resonates with my organization’s road map and we have embraced them in our upcoming projects. We leverage the features of Pega Express to build application prototypes so that we can get real-time feedback from customers and deliver a high-quality solution.

What message or advice would you give to anyone who is considering a career as a Pega Developer?
As a Pega developer, you get to think “outside of the box” and design creative solutions over short periods of time without focusing on code. Since Pega has a global footprint across various industries, you will always be in demand as a Pega developer.
