Tell us a bit about your journey - how did you get started on Pega?
I have a background in JavaScript/React, but when I was hired at FDM, I needed to learn Java. They put me through their training program, and upon completion, looked for a client where I could be placed. One of FDM’s clients needed a Pega Developer for their team; I was excited to learn something new, so I offered to learn Pega to move forward with this client of FDM's. I began training in Pega online, through Pega Academy. I took the System Architect Mission, passed my certification exam, and then moved on to the Robotics System Architect Mission. Now I consult as a Pega Developer focusing on Production Support.

What has been your most significant career accomplishment so far?
I am new to this industry – I only started coding less than a year ago! So, honestly, getting hired as a developer has been my most significant accomplishment so far! I am so proud and excited to be where I am now – it took a lot of hard work to get here, but every step was worth it!

"While having a technical background is helpful, the best part about Pega is that it does not require a technical background to learn the platform."

What message or advice would you give to anyone who is considering a career as a Pega developer?
Just go for it! While having a technical background is helpful, Pega does not require a technical background to learn. I think the best thing someone could do would be explore Pega Academy. The training on there is easy and straightforward with tons of resources! I still complete missions and modules in my down time just to keep learning!
