Tell us a bit about your Pega journey - What was your motivation to pursue CLSA certification?
I started off as a Java developer in 2007. It was during the first three years of my professional career that I dabbled in a few different tools & technologies until I was introduced to the world of Pega. I haven’t looked back! Pega offered me an array of exciting opportunities where I could be part of the massive digital transformation journeys of customers in many different industries. As I continued to move forward with my career, becoming a CLSA was the most logical path for me to attain the technical excellence that I always strived for.

What were the most significant obstacles that you faced on your path to become CLSA certified? How were you able to overcome those obstacles?
Even though I had seven years of experience working in Pega projects, there was still a lot to learn to ensure that I would become a CLSA. One major obstacle in the CLSA path was consistently dedicating 1-2 hours daily during the whole preparation phase of the certification. Working full-time on a project wasn’t making it any easier. Luckily, the wide range of Pega Academy study materials and practice App Build examples in the LSA course were particularly helpful.
During those seven days, it was a race against the clock. The certification not only tested my ability to design, code, test and document in a tight timeframe. It also tested my tenacity, critical thinking and perseverance.

What message or advice would you give to anyone who is considering a career as a Pega CLSA?
Attempt the App Build when you’re ready and don’t rush. Since technology is constantly evolving and the Pega platform is always up-to-date with the latest technology trends, aspiring CLSA’s will be expected to keep up to that level.
Discipline and diligence are the keys to your preparation phase. The process of becoming a CLSA isn’t easy but it’s worth the time and energy. Becoming a CLSA brings you to the forefront of the Pega developer community and open doors for opportunities across the world.
