DSS added to set Cassandra query page size limit
Resolved in Pega Version 8.4.4
When a site with a large number of nodes captured responses to the commit log, it was possible for nodes run out of heap space and cause system instability. This was due to the Cassandra query not having a specified page size, so the cluster-wide default setting of 5000 created an issue for large sites which could have over 150 nodes capturing responses. This has been resolved by specifying the page size on the Cassandra query that used to read responses from the commit log. This value will be set dynamically with a DSS to not read more than n responses from all shards combined in a single batch.

High thread contention in StrategySSAProgram resolved
Resolved in Pega Version 8.4.4
While Running inbound campaigns during peak times, high contention was observed around "threadSafeWrite" and "threadSafeRead". To resolve this and improve performance, the code around handling write locks has been updated.

Locking added to avoid Null pointer exception for auto-populate property
Resolved in Pega Version 8.4.4
After configuring the auto populate property "OrgProduct" which referred to a data page, the system experiencing heavy load led to the property not getting properly initialized. This resulted in a WrongModeException and NullPointerException. To resolve this, the system has been updated to lock the requestor when Queue Processors execute their activity. This will prevent race conditions and concurrent modifications if other threads are accessing the same requestor.

REGEX In Expression Builder matches runtime values
Resolved in Pega Version 8.4.4
An expression builder statement was evaluating differently at runtime vs at testing. This was traced to a difference in escape character handling between old legacy code and the new strategy runtime engine, and has been resolved by ensuring the strategy runtime engine is supporting escape character use cases.

Unescaping characters implemented for expressions
Resolved in Pega Version 8.3.6, Resolved in Pega Version 8.4.4, Resolved in Pega Version 8.5.3, Resolved in Pega Version 8.6
An issue where expression builder statements were evaluated differently at runtime than at testing has been resolved. Pega Platform expressions with String literals(that is, sequences of characters enclosed in quotation marks) now unescape characters in strategy shapes such as Set Property or Filter.

ExecuteRDB call updated to use NativeSQL for blob
Resolved in Pega Version 8.2.6
After creating a test activity to clear data set records that used the DataSet-Execute method and passed the data set name and truncate operation, only 51 records were deleted in a single run when the data set had more than 51 records. Investigation showed that for blob tables, the database truncate operation was using executeRDB with an empty results page, i.e. it didn't specify pyMaxRecords, which on some databases might have limited the number affected records. To resolve this, the executeRDB call in the database truncate operation has been modified to use NativeSQL for blob tables.

Correct service instance name passed for data flow in DSMStatus
Resolved in Pega Version 8.2.6
When using the Connect-HTTP service "DSMStatus" to provide the node and status information as seen on the various tabs of the Designer Studio > Decisioning > Infrastructure > Services landing page, using DataFlow as the service parameter for the HTTP service method resulted in an empty response when the expectation was to get the information regarding the cluster details of Dataflow node type. This was traced to the service instance name not being parsed correctly when used for Data Flow services, and has been resolved by ensuring the correct service instance name is passed for this use.

Deadlock in static Initialization of IntList resolved
Resolved in Pega Version 8.2.6
JVM Deadlock was seen related to the static Initialization of a subclass field in class com.pega.decision.strategy.ssa.runtime.collections.api.IntList . Thread dumps showed threads in RUNNABLE State that were parked to wait for class initialization, and this was traced to a missed sonar alert which failed in multi-threading. To resolve this, the system handling has been updated to prevent potential deadlock.
