Unable to install VBD application in WAS

Summary
Deployment of a VBD ear file in WebSphere 8.5.5 is failing with the error while trying to open the application archive for deployment. User was having Pega v7.1.7 application running on the same WebSphere.

Steps to Reproduce
Try deploying VBD ear file to WebSphere application server.
Root Cause
User was trying to deploy incorrect VBD ear file in the WebSphere. We were able to establish this difference after comparing the manifest build file (META-INF) inside the VBD ear file being used by the user and the DSM media kit.
Resolution
Installing the correct VBD ear file from the DSM media kit has resolved the deployment issue.
