Readonly format behaves incorrectly for dropdown
Summary
A dropdown is configured with Yes and No values on the User Interface and True and False values for property correspondingly. If user does not use the Readonly format as expected then True and False values display when the property displays in Readonly mode. If the Readonly configuration is provided then the values display correctly. However, No displays for the blank values.
Error Messages
Not Applicable
Steps to Reproduce
- Configure a dropdown with the Readonly format for True and False text as Yes and No respectively
- View the output in the Readonly format when the dropdown value is blank
Root Cause
An issue in the custom application code or rules.
Resolution
Here’s the explanation for the reported behavior:Readonly format is used as True or False, with True text as Yes and False text as No. In this type of Readonly format for the Dropdown control, the control considers the value only if it is True or False. The Boolean data types can only have a True or False value. The value other than True or False for a Boolean data type is considered as False and is interpreted as False. Since, an empty value is present for the dropdown property, No displays in the Readonly format on the User Interface (UI).
