Steps to Reproduce
- Configure TrackRemainingEfforts to run at 10:30 PM EST on weekdays.
- Observe the report populated from TrackRemainingEfforts does not have any content for Monday.
Root Cause
A defect or configuration issue in the operating environment. Cloud systems run in GMT and as such the agent schedule and the server need to be configured to run on the same day to meet the intended business case. As 10:30 PM EST Monday is equivalent to 2:30 AM GMT Tuesday.
Resolution
Update the agent schedule according to the PDN article: https://pdn.pega.com/documents/project-management-framework-712-managing-burn-down-agent-technical-note
Block of interest:
Scheduled agent time, it is recommended that the time zone that the Agent run in should be set equivalent to the system's server time zone so that the burn down data is written correctly, which ensures that the burn down charts display the correct data. If Agent ends up running after midnight server time, some business days (Fridays) could be skipped because the server detects it as a non-business day. The burn down chart should run as late in the day as possible (before midnight) to capture the daily snapshot of remaining hours and points for the teams' work.
If the server time zone and the agent's time zone cannot line up exactly, the agent should be scheduled to fall on the same day as the server time. In other words, the agent should finish running before midnight on the server time.
