pxAttachContent removes geolocation data from photo meta on iPad

Summary



Uploading a photo with geolocation data using the out-of-the-box pxAttachContent control on the iPad Safari browser, the photo is attached to the case. On downloading the photo from the case, the geolocation data in the photo metadata is removed

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Configure a flow action using out-of-the-box pxAttachContent flow action.
  2. Test it on the iPad browser as pxAttachContent is circumstanced.
  3. Upload a photo with geolocation data to the case.
  4. Download the photo from the case.
  5. To check the geolocation data on the photo - right click the photo > properties > details tab > GPS section.

Root Cause



While uploading images on iPad, the web based apps like Safari and Chrome browsers strip selected EXIF data or properties from images.

Resolution



The issue is a result of using iOS web based apps.
